Helping Oklahoma Public Education
State Question 744, also known as the HOPE initiative, will require that the average amount spent to support the learning of each student in our state is at least equal to the average spent in our neighboring states of Arkansas, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico and Texas.
- HOPE, SQ 744 puts Oklahoma’s children on equal footing with children who live in Arkansas and Texas.
- HOPE gives schools the resources necessary to recruit and retain the best teachers, to provide smaller class sizes and to have more up-to-date classroom materials.
- HOPE demands accountability from students and teachers to ensure that our children learn the skills they need to compete for the jobs of the future.
